The New Mexico Apple Council in cooperation with the New Mexico Department of Agriculture has scheduled a growers meeting for Thursday, November 18, 2004 beginning at 9:00 A.M. until 4:00 P.M. at the Fair Building in Santa Fe. 

 

The address is:  Santa Fe County Cooperative Extension Service, 3229 W Rodeo Road, Santa Fe, New Mexico

  Introduction and update to the Apple Maggot (AM) in NM

          NMDA Regulations as they pertain to the AM

          Education:  Monitoring for AM in Apple Orchards

                  Where to locate, how to install and how often to monitor for AM

                  AM treatment methods and timing

                  Reporting Requirements and Procedures for AM

                  Organic & non-organic methods of AM control

                  What products are labeled for use in NM for AM

                  Disposing of AM infected apples properly to limit spread

                  NM Farmer Markets & the Quarantine for AM

Marketing NM apples

                  Report on 2004 Apple crop and various markets

                  Farm to School Program DOD (Craig Maple)

                  NM School Lunch Program

Lunch is on your own.  Most of us will go to a Chinese buffet at Via Linda Mall during the lunch hour.  You are welcome to join us.
