Farm To Table NM Apple Council To Sell To Schools
In 2007-2008 the NM Apple Council sold apples and fruit to the following school districts: Albuquerque Public Schools (APS), Santa Fe and Taos. Other school districts across the state have agreed to participate in purchasing apples, fruit and other vegetables from growers. The only growers who can sell to these schools must meet the adopted guidelines established previously by the NM Apple Council. The guidelines are based on a point system. Points are accumulated for the following:

Northern New Mexico's Agricultural Meeting Place

Because maybe, just maybe you’ll bump into that amazing connection, contact, conversation, event, supplier, or organization that could help you increase your bottom line. e-Plaza is a website all about bringing local agricultural folks, like you, together through the internet to share information, buy and sell products and collaborate on new and existing projects which strengthen Northern New Mexico’s agricultural base.
Small Farm Funding
The mission of Farm Aid is to keep family farmers on their land. Farm
Aid supports organizations that work to maintain a family farm system of
agriculture and that promote solutions to the challenges facing rural
communities. Grants are awarded in the following general categories: farm
resources, including hotlines, training, and assistance programs for family
farms; farm action, such as educational campaigns and outreach regarding the
benefits of family farm produced foods; food systems, including creating new
markets for family farm produced food; and farm policy at the state, regional
and national level to create a family farm focused food system. Nonprofit
organizations throughout the U.S. are eligible to apply. Proposals must be
submitted no later than August 31st to be considered in this year¹s grant round.
